Voluptuous Divya Dutta talks about her voluptuousness and what she looks in men. Here is a part of the interview where she talks about sexier than ever in her 30s and what she thinks about men.
Do you think Indian men are fixated on a woman’s age? Does the way men perceive women change after they turn 30?
For me, it has changed for the better. I think it’s more of an individual thing. For me, it’s nicer now in every which way. Guys are more attracted to me now than ever before. I think life begins after you are 30.Being an actress you are always subjected to the male gaze. Has it ever made you uncomfortable?
If someone is being charming and just flirting with me and probably making me feel good about it then I will like it. But if someone is looking at you in a bad way, then it could make you uncomfortable.How do you deal with it?
There are three ways to deal with the male gaze — ignore it, just walk out of the place if you can, or be moonhphat. If I am really annoyed, then I would really give it back to them.Is the new liberal male a reality or is it wishful thinking? It’s wishful thinking.
Thanks to the women, it’s all changing.Women are becoming independent. As a result, the man-woman equation has changed a lot. Now they are more like partners than husbands and wives.Are today’s men comfortable with successful women?
There are always exceptions but if you speak generally then I think a guy has a huge male ego and it’s really difficult for him to handle a more successful woman.When did you become aware of the male gaze?
When I was a teenager.
I have been a very voluptuous woman always (laughs).Who do you trust more — the mirror or a man’s compliment?
Oh, the mirror any day. Men have their own little matlab behind complimenting you (laughs)
